Efficio’s Pedro Barroso and Max Sankey named “Pros to Know” in Supply & Demand Chain Executive awards

Efficio, the world’s largest specialist procurement and supply chain consultancy, is pleased to share that Director Pedro Barroso and Principal Max Sankey are recipients of Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s 2024 Pros to Know award, respectively recognised in the “Top Procurement Pros” and “Rising Stars” lists.
The Pros to Know award recognises outstanding executives whose accomplishments offer a roadmap for other leaders looking to leverage supply chain for competitive advantage. This year, this was broken down into categories, including “Top Procurement Pros”, which recognises professionals in the procurement space, and “Rising Stars”, awarded to young or newer professionals (39 and under) whose achievements, hard work, and vision have shaped the supply chain network.
Pedro has been recognised for the way in which he has leveraged his 15 years of experience in procurement and commercial transformation roles to lead large-scale transformation projects, such as reshaping commercial models and corporate policies. With the supply chain landscape becoming increasingly complex and competitive, Pedro advocates for a strong focus on the “people” aspect of the profession. This includes building a culture of strong stakeholder engagement, including improved supplier relationships, and training clients to develop their people skills to empower them to deliver sustained value.
Max has been recognised as a Rising Star for his initiative in starting and building up a team within Efficio focussed specifically on software sourcing. In just six months, the team has grown from only Max himself to now more than ten full-time consultants. The offering he has built up is unique: his team takes a holistic view of a company’s software footprint, optimising spend and functionality across the entire tech stack. In doing so, they help clients to make sense of fast-changing and often untransparent industry.
Pedro’s greatest strength is his laser focus on efficiency and strategy, complemented by strong people skills that allow him to build a rapport and work well with people with various backgrounds and aims. It’s a unique combination that has been crucial in the smooth delivery of complex change management programmes.
Max is a self-starter and a resourceful problem solver – qualities which have allowed him to build a best-in-class software sourcing offering. His commitment to bettering the procurement and supply chain landscape is also evident in his efforts to develop talent; he mentors many of his more junior colleagues and hosts trainings to help his teams develop their skills and careers. His generosity of spirit also shows up in his additional activities: he leads the US charity committee, for instance.
