Sustainability is often defined as meeting today’s needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
The pressure to be sustainable today — and to have that future focus, too — is mounting. Pressure is found within businesses and outside of them, with industry and regulatory mandates and geographical pressure coming from where companies operate and distribute. Vendors and consumers also heap on pressure, demanding the companies they work with be sustainable.
While the Chemicals sector may not seem like a natural candidate for exhibiting sustainable best practices, there is more opportunity than meets the eye — and a substantive history of innovation to build upon.
