The Future Procurement Leaders Network event is an interactive workshop series for those establishing their careers in Procurement and Supply Chain. These events provide a unique opportunity to network and engage with your peers around key procurement topics.
The topic
In this session, Lucy Mallinson, Strategic Sourcing Manager at IPC Europe (a non-profit organisation owned by Subway Franchisees in Europe), will kick off the discussion on how we can add value to our categories, not just through inflation mitigation and cost of goods savings, but through reducing complexity and ensuring supply chain resilience.
Key discussion points will include the following:
- Reducing complexity – What takes up most of your resources within your current category, and how might you reduce this?
- Reducing complexity – Which product/service has the longest supply chain within your category, and how might we combat this?
- Supply chain resilience – How many suppliers do you currently work with for your biggest spending area? Should you have more/less? (i.e. Can we encourage suppliers to become category managers or should we add suppliers to create leverage and contingency?)
- Supply chain resilience – Following recent and past challenges such as COVID, the war in Ukraine, the Suez Canal obstruction, and the Spanish driver strikes, how are you set up to deal with unexpected market pressures?
