About the speaker
Dr Clive Rees, Chief Procurement Officer for the Americas and EMEIA regions at Fujitsu, will be opening the evening’s discussions, and sharing his views and experiences of how centralising his company’s procurement function has streamlined their purchasing system and resulted in additional savings – with a commitment to deliver further savings over the next three years. Clive has an impressive list of professional accomplishments: he joined Fujitsu in February 2014 as Chief Procurement Officer for the UK and Ireland, with his regional responsibility later expanding to include EMEIA and the Americas. Prior to Fujitsu, he was the Chief Procurement Officer at Ladbrokes plc, before which he spent six years with Lloyds Banking Group as the IT Procurement Director, four years at Abbey National as Head of IT Procurement, and three years at National Australia Bank as an IT Procurement Lead.
Founded in 1935, Fujitsu is the third oldest IT company in the world. A Japanese multinational information technology equipment and services company, its services cover the development, manufacture, sales and maintenance of cutting-edge, high-quality products and electronic devices.
About the venue
The dinner will be held at The Lanesborough Hotel, home of the Michelin-starred Céleste restaurant. This beautiful neoclassical building overlooking Hyde Park corner and opposite Apsley House, the London residence of the Duke of Wellington, previously housed St George’s Hospital which opened in 1733. In the mid-1970s the hospital transferred to south London, and the building was refurbished as a hotel and re-opened in 1991. Since it was taken on by its current management in 2014 the hotel has gone from strength to strength. It is regularly awarded 5 stars by Forbes Travel Guide and is frequently listed as a top hotel in lists including ‘Best European Hotel’, ‘Best Hotel in London’, and ‘Best Hotel in the World’.
