About the speaker

Reiner Orth will open the evening’s discussion by sharing his experiences of developing strategic procurement at Swissport. Reiner currently holds the role of Chief Procurement Officer at Swissport, a €2.8 billion revenue firm that provides airport ground and cargo handling services on a global scale. Since commencing this role in October 2017, Reiner has focused on further developing strategic procurement for direct and indirect spend and driving the deployment of a new P2P tool at Swissport, thus increasing significantly managed spend and overall efficiency of the procurement organization.

With over 17 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, Reiner has occupied several managerial roles at leading firms, this includes holding the position of Group VP and Head of Strategic Souring at ABB, Head of Supply Chain Management and Procurement at Siemens and Head of Corporate Procurement Technical Goods at Boehringer Ingelheim. Reiner holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bochum and an MBA from the University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
